While Jewel is a smash hit singer Stateside, her adult contemporary vibe hasn't sold too well here. On the basis of this insipid, unoriginal offering, I suspect a similar fate will befall Dana Glover.
If the record label was hoping to land the next Alanis Morrissette or Dido, they may as well keep looking because this middle of the road fodder won't set the world alight any time soon.
The whiff of LA record executive meddling is unmistakable. Rain is one of those tracks that is so perfectly polished you imagine you could shine your shoes with the CD. Not a bad idea actually - it's not much use otherwise.
