There must have been something in the sea water at Lowestoft - grown men normally need operations to sing as high as Justin Hawkins. But therein lies one of the many appealing factors of The Darkness, who have taken over Planet Rock with a zest and humour rarely found in a band these days.

Undeterred by not winning the Mercury Music Prize, they re-release the best track from Permission To Land, a soaring monster of a song that can't help but bring a smile to your face.

In what sounds like an aria from a rock opera we are treated to riffs and solos galore, not to mention Justin's exaltations, which ought to lead this right to the top of the charts.
