When a band are produced by Soulwax and name-checked by Justice, you could be forgiven for expecting the next groundbreaking European dance act, maybe following in the footsteps of Daft Punk. After all, it was Soulwax who popularised the 'mash-up' phenomenon now so prevalent, so Das Pop must be something pretty special.

What you don't expect is a mediocre, limp, dull indie band, seemingly created for those people who find Scouting For Girls a bit too edgy for their tastes. Tambourines shake, there's a string section meandering about in the background, lead singer Bent Van Looy has a horribly flat delivery and the chorus sounds like it's escaped from some bad Guilty Pleasures compilation.

Yes, curse you The Feeling, for you have so much to answer for. Quite what on earth Soulwax are doing associating with this lot is anybody's guess, but the sooner they get back to doing what they're best at, the better.
