I think I've might have just discovered my new favourite band. Anything I can say about Das Wanderlust will not do them justice. I'll try, but I'd suggest you check them out for yourselves.
Sunday School starts life as an off kilter waltz. Then slowly transforms into a New Wave thrash. Then it has a bit of lie down. Then it gets out some stickle bricks to amuse itself. Then it eats too much chocolate has a bit of a sick, and has a bit of a New Wave spazz-out again. Oh, there's a flute doing something cute. Oh it's finished. Better start it again.
Das Wanderlust are deranged, adorable and totally unhinged.
If you were in a bar, sat next to a girl (or a guy, but I'm talking for me here) you barely know (but whom you know is a tiny bit crazy) and she sticks her arm around you and then says to your mates totally seriously "I can't believe we got together we're like chalk and cheese. It's weird isn't it?". She says this despite the fact you are most definitely not together (although her utter belief that you are together makes you think that you might have agreed to this somehow). The feeling of sheer confusion, terror, and a weird sense of excitement that you experience is similar to listening to Das Wanderlust.
That feeling might not sound like the kind of thing favourite bands are made of, but trust me you'll get used to it.
