As becomes obvious, What Was Her Name is a cover of Bauhaus' Indie-monster of the early '80s She's In Parties. Re-tooled by techno-bloke Dave Clarke, What Was Her Name also incorporates the studied arty chill of Chicks On Speed.

One-time Turnmills resident Clarke gleefully digitalizes his gothic icons while maintaining the cheekbones-and-eyeliner glam of the original. LFO (welcome back!) transform the track into a frantic neural-funk, with the COS vocals ghosting throughout. The Blackstrobe mix will have a dancefloor curious as to whether they really did throw away all those big-boxes and little-boxes of yesteryear.

If, on the off chance, the guests' taste at your next house party are likely to be split on the Jeff Mills or Marilyn Manson axis, then What Was Her Name is for you. Only on the off-chance, of course.
