Poor old David Ford. Not only does he have to sit and watch while lesser talents like James Blunt pick up their Brits, but he also goes through a tough time romantically if this single's anything to go by.

I Don't Care What You Call Me is a powerful ballad which recalls Damien Rice at his more intense. It builds up slowly, benefitting from Frances Law's wispy backing vocals, until becoming almost anthemic by the end. It's none too cheery, but it's all the better for that.

He stole the show when he supported Starsailor last year, and he really should be more famous than he is. But if he was, he may not be making such magnificant music like this - so, let's keep him our little secret shall we?
