David Saw - Your Boyfriend's A Really Nice Guy (Republic)

If a compilation of The World's Greatest Song Titles was made (Channel 4 are probably already assembling one), Your Boyfriend's A Really Nice Guy would be somewhere between Pink Floyd's Several Species Of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave And Grooving With A Pict and Morrissey's You're The One For Me, Fatty.

Sadly though, few will have heard of its creator, British singer / songwriter David Saw. His 2003 debut album Different Story went relatively unnoticed, but hopefully Your Boyfriend..., his new single, will change this.

The single has a great 1960s vibe (imagine a modern Beach Boys or The Byrds). The lyrics are straightforward and the melody Beatles-esque catchy. It's an example of top-notch, excellent songwriting with a sense of humour. If you like David Gray or Damien Rice this is for you.
