Dead Fly Buchowski - Russian Doll (Beggar's Banquet)
UK release date: 11 April 2005
Following on from their acclaimed first single, Blackout, Russian Doll ups the ante, and sets the stall out for Dead Fly Buchowski's forthcoming album. There's been quite a buzz building up around these Flies, and it's easy to see why. With the world becoming more and more influenced by solid riff slabs from the likes of Queens Of The Stone Age, or the conceptual crash of The Mars Volta, the time is right for full on art school noise.
Dead Fly Buchowski obviously worship at the altar of the mighty Sabbath, while vocalist Roddy Campbell sits on the side of Jim Morrison's bath tub, draws hard on a herbal cigarette and croons as if possessed by an insane need to spew half baked poetry.
If this Russian Doll fits perfectly in to several equally crafted and lovingly decorated others, then when the album Land Of The Rough finally arrives it will be one of the most exciting debuts of the year. Make no mistake, you will be hearing a lot of Dead Fly Buchowski.
