Death Cab For Cutie must both curse and bless the day that The OC came into their life. When lead character Seth Cohen named them as his favourite band, it introduced them to a whole new audience, but also forever tagged them as 'that OC band'.
Now that Josh Schwartz's achingly hip drama is over though, perhaps it's time for Ben Gibbard's band to move up a level. Recent album Narrow Stairs was the band's best to date, and Cath is a swooping, anthemic, quietly heartbreaking highlight.
The lyrics tell the sad tale of a bride marrying for the wrong reasons who "closed the door on so many men who would have loved you more", brought to life as ever by Gibbard's expressive, emotion-filled voice. If you still only know Death Cab as Seth Cohen's favourite band, it's time to reinvestigate them.
