Default are a Canadian rock band, with a sound in the vein of Nickelback. With a vocalist that goes by the name of Dallas Smith. By now, you've probably already decided whether they're your cup of tea.
You could almost hear the checklist being ticked as this was recorded - moody, if slightly whiny, vocals, the crashing drums on the chorus, the power chords etc. This is colour-by-numbers corporate rock that already sounds horrendously dated - it's easy to imagine this over the credits of a Top Gun-style movie.
As Nickelback and Staind have proved, there is a market for this. But weren't Nirvana meant to rid us all of this kind of stuff?
