Laudably opting not to release another track from Faded Seaside Glamour, Delays instead have recorded this all new track, which has been a staple of their recent live performances.

Those who are familiar with Delays' output may be a bit surprised the first time they hear Lost In A Melody. Some very 80s-style synthesizer chords strike up, creating an almost Gary Numan feel to proceedings - why, there's hardly a jangly guitar to be heard. Greg Gilbert's voice sounds more powerful than before, especially during the mighty "Stop!" he bellows during the chorus.

For those people who have written off Delays as a generic indie guitar band, this is the song that will prove them wrong. By the time it's transformed into an almost glam-rock stomp at the end, you'll be both intrigued and excited by the thought of the direction they'll be taking next. Their best single yet, and a fine end to the year for one of the country's best new bands.
