A re-release of their debut single, All Mapped Out arrives just a week before The Departure's eagerly anticipated debut long player. The title may well exude a hint arrogance given their ultra smooth rise to prominence, but after a couple of listens to this it's clear that any hype regarding this group is entirely justified.

Razor sharp riffs, a typically elastic bass line and lead singer David Jones' unmistakable, often overtly English vocals combine to create a fantastically edgy and frantic number, which is certainly up there with their best work.

"Let's dance just for tonight!" cries Jones towards the end of the song - this is also a remarkably dance friendly track that should get hips flying at indie discos up and down the country, as well as finding a niche in the illustrious Killers / Bloc Party / Franz Ferdinand market. The Departure are an important band that are on the brink of something very big - you should start by doing the right thing and investing in this single.
