Bow Selectah! East London's Mercury Award winning MC and producer is back for another stab at the charts with one of the more curious tracks from his debut LP, The Boy In Tha Corner. Self aggrandising cod-operatic vocals provide the start to another grimy garage tale, followed by a dirty riff and stuttering beats that bear a minimal relationship with any of the other chart-bound records that could be described as garage or 2-step.
Definitely not one of the strongest tracks on the album, it still packs enough of a punch when compared to its peers. The production is pleasingly rough and ready and the vocals show off his - by now well acknowledged - verbal dexterity.
A perfect antidote to the sanitized likes of Blazin' Squad, it's always good to see artists break out of the underground who you know are just going to leave a fair sized proprtion of the populace scratching their heads, complaining about it just being noise.
