Candlewax is an indie-pop tune full of snappy, woozy and quirky guitar riffs, sprinkled with piano and accompanied by thundering bass and short-sharp vocals. It bounces along with explosions of feisty energy manufactured in the Steel City.
Currently supporting Ash on tour, the Irish outfit would be proud of this fuzzy tripped-out number. It’s fired out within a couple of minutes flat, exterminating your speakers. With a UK tour to be announced soon, it will give them chance to amplify this top single live, shuddering the walls of a venue near you.
Influenced by classic rock such as The Who, AC/DC and Jimi Hendrix, but slotting perfectly into the current scene dominated by bands such as the Pigeon Detectives - If there was room for yet another indie-pop band, then perhaps the Dodgems will be famous for more than providing the Arctic Monkeys with their new bassist.
