Quirky indie bands from Glasgow appear to be all the rage right now. Franz Ferdinand have already swept all before them, and now Dogs Die In Hot Cars are the latest applicants to join the new Scottish gentry.

They have a sound as memorable as their, erm, unusual name with a chorus that runs out of the speakers and grabs you round the scruff of the neck. Lead singer Craig McIntosh has obviously been listening to some Cure records as he sounds very similar to Robert Smith, and while the reggae/ska beat grates at first, the song skates along nicely.

It does lack the magical 'X' factor that their countrymen's Take Me Out possessed in spades, yet there's enough here to make Dogs Die In Hot Cars a name to watch out for.
