Remember Donna Lewis? If you do, you may be horrified to learn that eleven years have passed since her hit I Love You Always Forever, whose soft, cool tones propelled her to the heights of the singles charts both sides of the Atlantic.
She's not been idle in the intervening years, but this single release is clearly marketed as the Swansea chanteuse's push for the big time once again. And to be honest, not much has changed. The voice remains ice chilled, the backing blue-grey in colour with a soothing ambience.
On first hearing the song completely passes you by, but repeated listens reel it in, and gradually it takes root in your head. Now where do I remember that happening before? Ah, 1996, such heady days!
