Amazing, really, that Dutch and Belgian trance music are each so distinctive from the other. The artists will tell you it isn't so, and that each act has its own distinctive sound, but when you hear this debut offering from Dutch outfit Driftwood and compare it with recent singles by the likes of Milk Inc and Lasgo, you'll find a harder, Dutch edge here.
But far from sounding as if 2 Unlimited never existed, the infectious thumping bass underpins phat synths and a classic loop, wearing you out and leaving you feeling euphoric.
Yet let's not get too carried away. This being Eurotrance, after all, those pesky Belgians - and labelmates - are never far away. Amongst the mixes backing up the main track is one by Lasgo.
