It's a clever move naming the first single to be released in advance of your second album 'Regeneration', especially when the sentiment is so very true.

Gone are the more overt nods to the darker end of pop that dominated 2006's The Bright Lights And What I Should Have Learned, and in their place sits even heavier bassiness and ponderous drums, as though Duels are now taking their cues from somewhere between The White Stripes and Nine Inch Nails. It's harder, ballsier and an indicator of supreme confidence that they don't need to tread safely in their own footsteps.

Welcome as Regeneration would be on its own, it's the b-side, When The Sea Comes, that really makes you sit up and take notice. A dark, gothic piano ballad that's dripping with pathos, it shows the other side of what Duels are made of. Taken together, the two tracks promise an album that will blow us away. Regeneration indeed, even though none was needed.
