She began the year as most people's tip for the top, then proceeded to fulfill that prediction by breaking America as well, and now she's back to round off 2009 with a brand new song (to go on the 'deluxe' version of Rockferry, just in case you fancied buying exactly the same album all over again but with a few extra tracks).
If there's one thing Duffy knows not to do, it's mess with a winning formula. So, it'll come as absolutely no surprise to hear that this is a big, retro-sounding pop-soul number, more in the Mercy vein than Warwick Avenue, with the Welsh warbler in predictably terrific voice. There's an mighty orchestral arrangement here too, leading many to wonder whether this was the much vaunted Bond theme that Duffy was tipped to record earlier in the year.
Basically, if you've spent the last 12 months wondering what all the fuss was about Duffy, then this won't help you make your mind up. And if you're one of the millions who bought the album, then this is a useful little addition. However, a bit more variety would be nice for that second album.
