Elbow - Not A Job (V2)

UK release date: 23 February 2004
Elbow - Not A Job
Elbow's Cast Of Thousands album was one of the more deserved success stories of last year, and Not A Job is the latest single to be released by Guy Garvey and his Mancunian cohorts.

It's an odd choice for a single, not being the most memorable track from Cast From Thousands. Guitars chime, Garvey's voice is in its usual melancholy tone, and it drifts by without making too much of an impression. Basically, if you're an Elbow fan, you'll love it, other people will wonder what all the fuss is all about.

The lead track is backed with two superb covers - a magnificent version of Massive Attack's Teardrop and a rendition of Bruce Cockburn's Live On My Mind. Still worth buying then, even if you do own the album.
