Elton John - All That I'm Allowed (I'm Thankful) (Mercury)

UK release date: 1 November 2004
Elton John - All That I'm Allowed (I'm Thankful)
Elton John along with longtime songwriting partner, Bernie Taupin makes a welcome return to the singles chart with this fresh, dulcet song that shows the true mastery of its legendary craftsmen.

Recorded in Atlanta, All That I'm Allowed (I'm Thankful) is the first single from Elton's forthcoming 43rd studio album, Peachtree Road, of which the flamboyant, rocket man himself takes on the duty of producer for the very first time. It's a wonderful, harmonious tune with a calm rhythm filled with melodious backing vocals (courtesy of a nearby Atlanta choir) held tightly together by Elton's distinctive vocal tones.

Unlike many singers from his generation Sir Elton has had the fortunate, uncanny ability and exceptional talent (or luck and money depending on which angle you want to look at it) of striving to create wonderful records and seemingly continue to enter the charts with little or no anxiety at all. With songs like this, very few would argue against his success.
