I'm sure I can't be alone in thinking, when faced with the prospect of another single from a former Spice Girl - just how much mileage do they have left? Surely the limited well of talent they had between them has dried up by now? Why can't they be happy with their millions and leave us all alone?
Wishful thinking aside, Emma (the Bunton has been discreetly dropped) seems determined to carve her niche as a solo artist, plumping for a decidedly Andy Williams-styled, easy listening vibe. Maybe is awash with theatrical strings, cha-cha beat, la-la backing vocals and brass stabs; aiming fair and square at the dinner party demographic.
It's a very inoffensive record, which given Emma's image, should guarantee its success. Which now begs the question: who would have put money on Baby emerging as the most successful post-Spice girl? Certainly not me - but it's looking ever more likely.
