The artist formerly known as Baby Spice, now reduced to plain old Emma, previews her forthcoming album Free Me with I'll Be There. Don't expect a massive change in direction, but more success is Emma-bound.
This little ditty is a delightful serving of pop the way it should be - fun. I hope I'm not completely missing the point but I'll Be There, with its mock dramatic musical backdrop, does seem to be taking the proverbial. Not a bad thing though and despite the "deep" lyrics this has "cheese" written all over it.
Uplifting, vibrant and almost sickeningly pretty, I'll Be There is just the right track to exorcise the demons of January.
