Understandably, as a close collaborator with Royksopp (indeed guesting on several of their tracks), Norwegian soft dance artist Erlend Oye brings us a typical slice of Euro niceness with his latest release Sheltered Life.

Sheltered Life is essentially nothing groundbreaking. However, that is no bad thing in this case, as he drapes lazy vocals over a relaxed and unhurried electronic track. Oye's voice sets his efforts out from the pack, and in the process he caresses our ears in a manner championed by his good friends Royksopp.

The Royksopp/Air/Ladytron fan in you feels compelled to check out Erlend Oye, whereas the snob in you dictates that you try something entirely new. Oye is a mere step from his peers, but it's a relaxed step, and you could do a lot worse for a chilled summer track.
