From a band who list Kasabian and Death In Vegas among their influences, one might expect a considerably larger bite than Exist actually have, which in all honesty is closer to a playful nibble.

The Fear starts promisingly enough with a scouring Primal Screaming riff piercing swirling electronica. But post-intro there's little joy to be had. The acoustic guitar accompaniment is tame, the vocals are bland in the extreme and the structure - don't even get me started. The structure is predictable, and utterly boring, and screams: "I'm suitable for radio airtime!"

West Midlands' Exist are attempting guitar-based rock laced with smatterings of electronica. But while some of their more established contemporaries (Kasabian/Idiot Pilot) strike the fear of life into their listener, Exist just come across a bit... wimpy. It's like raucous, anti-societal, brutal music for the more considered, well-mannered individual. Confusing, disappointing, avoid.
