As you might expect, the latest single from Fatboy
Slim does exactly what it says on the tin. Which is a
good thing, really, as earlier this year he had the
temerity to stick it on his greatest hits album,
several months before it was even due to be released.
That sort of thing might count as a risk for a
lesser being, but when you're Norman Cook you pretty
much know you'll get away with it, as the chances are
you're not going to wake up one morning and release a
single that's complete pants. We all know it's going
to be a brilliantly lovely dancefloor treat for all
concerned and, of course, it is.
Its sure-fire chance of success is enhanced even
further by help from Sharon "Sweet Like Chocolate"
Woolf, who adds some cheesily brilliant la-la
la-la-la la-laaas to the suitably ace bassline. So
then, chart scaling ahoy - just in time to remind the
record buying public to dig deep into their pockets or
revise their wishlist in the direction of Greatest
Hits - Why Try Harder before Christmas. The man's a
genius.
