After the widely popular success of her previous single 1234 (you don't hit it much bigger than an Apple advert nowadays, do you?), indie soulstress Feist returns with another offering from her 2007 album The Reminder.
The jaunty I Feel It All presents Feist with her usual cool composure. As the track bounces along with a tambourine, bells, and a light drum shuffle, she offers poetic imagery intermingled with typical pop lyrics -- "Stranded in a fog of words, loved him like a winter bird" stands right alongside lines like "I love you more, I don't know what I knew before".
While her playful vocal delivery suggests an upbeat version of Cat Power, Feist's musical backing is decisively more current in its indie-pop flair (as opposed to Chan Marshall's retro feel). There's nothing new here, but Feist has found her niche in indie pop and continues to express herself almost effortlessly through this pleasant, straightforward single.
