With a title like You Can Decide, there's a good argument for not writing a review. Why bother, if you, the listener, can decide?

Pah, say we. Setting aside such common sense, here's a review anyway. As the press release helpfully states, "at a mere 2 minutes 19, (it) is over before you've had time to take it all in" - too true, so the Brewis brothers' latest offering is for sure one for repeat listens.

And it's during the second or third hearing that You Can Decide declares Field Music as the latest in a long line of Beach Boys devotees breaking cover this year. Replete with hand-claps, ooooos and aaaaahs, an ear for melody lurks beneath the eccentric synth piano.

Backing tracks In The Kitchen and Feeding The Birds are significantly different in mood but follow a similarly harmonious path to quiet greatness, both tracks adding staccato violins to a signpost marked Prefab Sprout.

So I've decided - Field Music are decidedly good, so they are. Your turn.
