New York-based Anglo-American band Five O'Clock Heroes brought out their genuinely promising debut album Bend to the Breaks last year, full of well-crafted New Wave-inspired pop-rock songs. But it didn't get the commercial success it deserved, so now they seem to have sold out with new single Who, featuring budding androgynous supermodel Agyness Deyn.

Maybe Kate Moss's celebrity was exploited for The Libertines' What Katie Did and Babyshambles' La Belle et la Bete but Pete Doherty was hardly dependent on her to sell records. And anyway those were good songs whereas Who is diluted pop with a shameless rip-off of the famous chords from The Police's Roxanne. A blandly sung duet with Heroes' lead singer Antony Ellis, it is instantly forgettable.

The song seems to be about wanting to break up with someone without having the courage to do so: ‘Sometimes I feel like I'm stuck in your head…One day I'll move get away.' However, the lyrics make as little impact as the music. This single bodes badly for the band's forthcoming second album Speak Your Language, but with this year's model all over the video it's bound to raise their profile. Who cares?
