The band who clearly don't believe in space bars on computers, Fleeingnewyork, first appeared last year with their highly promising debut album A OK, which contained one of the very best singles of 2004 in Hollywood Bowl. Sadly, not that many people seemed to catch on last time, but Up Up Up Up may well garner them a few new fans.
Emma Richardson and Russell Marsden are fighting over vocal duties again, and it's their chemistry which gives the band its creative energy. Considering there's only three of them they make an good amount of noise, and they've moved on from sounding like the Pixies to throwing in some White Stripes influences.
Back up track At Night is also excellent - blending a pop sensibility and a gloriously uplifting chorus together to create something truly special. If Fleeingnewyork aren't big very soon, then there's certainly something wrong with the world.
