If you haven't jumped on the Foals bandwagon yet then Cassius gives you a final opportunity to do so before their album hits the shelves and the band totally disappear in the fog of hype that is already starting to overshadow their musical output.
Four official singles in, and Foals show little sign of waning or running out of material. Admittedly Cassius hasn't got a thing on Hummer, but as usual this is a fine exercise in what Foals do so well. Systematic guitar riffs and ambiguous lyrics drive this little ditty towards what might well be their poppiest moment so far. Steady yourselves, but there are actually some great big fat chords in here (something Foals seem to avoid when a nimbly picked out guitar pattern always seems to be the preferred choice), and a saxophone lurking deep in the mix.
Not a great departure from everything that has come before then, but still infinitely better and more interesting than the majority of singles out there.
