You would never guess that Four Tet, also known as Kieran Hebden, only forayed into electronica during a break from post-rockers Fridge. Well, he did, and as it turns out, he does it better than most.
He's toured with the Super Furries and Radiohead, and tracks like My Angel show why: minimal; ambient; original; somewhat experimental; making use of varied instrumentation and drifting into progressive riffs. Hebden's dilapidated jazz clearly answers to no man.
This leftfield style doesn't end with the music, and My Angel is in fact a bargain two disc treat, containing four videos on a bonus DVD. Four Tet is an electronic love just waiting to be discovered.
