The Mercury Music Award winners' hits have been coming fast and furious, of which This Fffire (remixed and renamed) is the fifth after Darts Of Pleasure, Take Me Out, Matinée and Michael - all off their self-titled debut. The single shows no sign of the band's waning - it's another impassioned hit with killer choruses and cataclysmically powerful riffs.

Franz Ferdinand have submerged themselves so much in our public conscience that even if you heard the single without introduction, you'd know it was them, even though their retro punk sounds like Hot Hot Heat and The Rapture. It's another distinctive hit to holler along to and another reminder that this band are here to hang around for a very long time.
