Isn't it about time that Costello Music was stopped being milked for singles? Ole Black N Blue Eyes is the sixth single to be taken from the band's debut album (seventh if you include the download-only Flathead), and to be honest it's all starting to sound rather samey now.
The Fratellis basically have one song, with slow (Whistle For The Choir) and fast (Chelsea Dagger) variations. This is kind of inbetween the two, a mid-paced breeze of a song which is sadly missing the energy and hooks of their best work. It's kind of an odd choice for a single to be honest, as it's probably one of the least memorable tracks on the album.
So, to surmise, if you're a Fratellis fan you'll enjoy it (but already have it). If you're not a Fratellis fan, you'll ignore it. Time for a long break lads, or at least to start writing some new material.
