Glasgow's The Fratellis have only actually been together for just over a year, bagged a major label deal with Island after only a handful of gigs and their rather splendid debut EP Creepin' Up The Backstairs is currently changing hands for silly money over at eBay.
So, genuine superstars in waiting or record company generated hype? Well, superstars may be putting it a bit strong, but this trio of brothers are certainly the perfect band to spend the summer with. Henrietta is a frantic slice of Britpop-referencing knockabout fun, with the much mentioned comparisons to early Supergrass making perfect sense here. It's guaranteed to make you jump up and down a lot, and the lyrics about a predatory older woman will bring a smile to anyone's face.
There's a nagging feeling that it's all a bit throwaway and you get the impression that they'll probably disappear as quickly as they arrived. Yet none of that really matters, as Henrietta is bound to be one of the highlights of the upcoming festival season.
