Freddie Cruger, a Swedish record spinner turned producer with his own label, is very much from the old school. The b-boy vibe is evident on his records, which are being plugged by one of Scandinavia's freshest labels.
Teaming up with Brooklyn emcee Rapadon on Bap Yo' Head there is a definite Ugly Duckling feel to it, whether it be on the original or the swish backroom Up Hygh remix. Boogie Down is a much more funky (in terms of the genre) track. It's all very, very cool.
In fairness this release will probably get nowhere close to a significant spot on the charts. But it should provide the soundtrack to all the "edgy" disc jockeys in swanky vodka bars and hazy backrooms up and down the country.
