Friends Of The Bride - You Can't Take Him Anywhere (Brainlove)
UK release date: 17 March 2008
There's something eerily flawless about Friends Of The Bride. From the dandy image to the absolutely perfectly executed vocals that not even the most polished of popstars with the most pedantic of producers can usually pull off, with this single more so than ever, they are making everyone else in music sound like a bunch of sloppy, lazy gits.
Their absolutely uncompromising attention to detail leaves very little for a reviewer to critique. With such a distinct sound, Friends Of The Bride are obviously not going to suit everyone's taste - but they've already proven on the London scene that being quite so ridiculously good can conquer every barrier of cool.
They might be unusual, they may sound far too middle class and there may be something unnaturally clean and controlled about Bobby Grindrod's fresh, New Romantic, Frank Sinatra-like sound, but there's something about it that just makes the whole thing completely untouchable.
