Back in the mid-90s, when the most we had to worry about was whether Glen Hoddle would pick Paul Gascoigne to play for England, the Fun Lovin' Criminals were the perfect band. Fun and frivolous, the New Yorkers were the good-time soundtrack to our lives, and records like Scooby Snacks and King Of New York can still be listened to with affection,

Nearly ten years on, the world feels like a very different, much more depressing, place but the Fun Lovin' Criminals don't appear to have changed. Huey's rap drawl is as laidback as ever, and there's a Spanish flavour to the chorus, which makes it nicely appropriate for these summer months. Yet there's something missing - it just sounds oddly dated to be honest, and it's difficult to see them reclaiming their glory days with this track.

That said, there is something oddly comforting about the Fun Lovin' Criminals' shtick, and Mi Corazon is another endearing record from them. It's just difficult to see anyone particularly caring about them in 2005.
