Funeral For A Friend - She Drove Me To Daytime Television / Bullet Theory (Infectious)

UK release date: 6 October 2003

Funeral For A Friend - She Drove Me To Daytime Television / Bullet Theory
After the top 20 success of Juneau, the Welsh emo-metallers continue to lay down the gauntlet for their forthcoming, bound-to-sell-bucketloads debut album with this double A-side.

She Drove Me To Daytime Television has more than just an ingenious song title going for it; it's packed full of incisive guitar riffs, leftfield rhythms and Matt Davies' impressive, heartfelt vocals. But it's Bullet Theory, previously only available as a download, that really takes the biscuit. This song could have been lifted straight off AFI's recent, rather wonderful Sing The Sorrow album. Although plagiarism is to be frowned upon, when the result is as uplifting and anthemic as this punk rock song is, there's room for mercy.

Emo, schmeemo - this is damn fine rock music, period.
