To call Belfast bottom heavy would be something of an understatement - a rock solid kick drum does battle with a booming animal of a bassline, whilst white noise rushes around the treble end, like travelling on a fast moving train. If you heard this in a club you'd be dancing for your life.

It's the exhilarating first part of a soundclash between two techno heavyweights, the Soma regular Funk D'Void and the prolific Phil Keiran, man of many remixes and previously known to Soma for a monster reworking of Slam's This World. The two spark off well, trading Funk D'Void's relatively cool sound for deep, dark moodiness.

Black Worm shapes as if it won't be nearly as testing to your ribcage but develops into a truly disquieting breakdown (on headphones, at any rate) before returning to its electro house vibe. Bruising stuff.
