The Futures are a young Irish trio who came this way not so long back with an eponymous debut album that was a darkish, kinda mid-noise brood-fest which, fact (!), my landlady thinks is amazing (so that's a bonus, eh lads?)
Hanging Around initially, and slightly worryingly, sounds like a weedy Wedding Present noodle before blossoming into a melody-strewn skirmish between Dinosaur Jr,
Ash and The Thrills. It's the sort of thing you'd hear on Teachers when whasisface from This Life walks down a corridor while a donkey negotiates some stairs in the background.
Extra points are gained for the cover of Hedwig And The Angry Inch - the best punk-rock musical about a botched sex-change ever - with lyrics that would make even ol' potty-mouth Peaches blush.
