They taught us how to stunt, but how many paid attention when G-Unit were poppin' them thangs? So few that their last single was bumped to the b-side of 50 Cent's If I Can't. With that in mind it's quite bold to release Wanna Get to Know You so soon after.

The song hasn't changed since I reviewed the album, so to plagiarise my own work; Wanna Get To Know You is slow paced and very rhythmic. Joe, of Stutter fame, lays down the chorus and makes it painfully clear that this isn't a sweet serenade: "I wanna be your lover / I really wanna f**k you." The song is a real grower, just don't let the whole gangstas doing R 'n 'B put you off.

The timing of this release is a bit strange as well given the imminent release of Ride Wit U - which is by Joe featuring G-Unit (see the pattern emerging?). Wanna Get To Know You should chart well and tide the genre's "mainstream" audience over while the rest of us hear the fresh work floating about on mix tapes.
