Too clean, too clean. The sound of the day in Rap is dirty - but Gang Starr's Nice Girl, Wrong Place is backed by a catchy bouncy loop whose cleanliness makes it sound dated, despite an effective cut-up technique.
On the bright side, Guru's flow is as good as ever, and the lyrics are excellent as well as being surprisingly PC.
But production like this just ain't gonna compete on the Dre/Neptunes/Timbaland axis.
