This third release from the third Garbage album recalls their first two albums rather than the new one.

Shirley Manson, now new and improved with short blonde locks, still layers her sneering vocals over digitised guitars and synths.

But it's on the quiet b-side cover of Lou Reed's Candy Says that we hear the more laid back sound Garbage make nowadays. They should have the confidence to explore this new direction further.
