Gary Numan might be an electropop godfather, having brought into our world Cars and Are Friends Electric? over 20 years ago, but he's also darling of Kerrang!, Nine Inch Nails fan and industrial rocker par excellence.

Taken first from 2000's Pure album and from the recently released compilation Exposure, RIP features Numan at his snarling, fucked-up best as a master of unnerving verses and huge, stadium-filling choruses. Sure, there are synths on here, but this is the sound of a man who knows how to rock.

Following the recent success of Numan samples on songs by Basement Jaxx and Sugababes, the boy from Hammersmith shows every sign of coming good once again. New industrial versions of old songs back up the release as B-sides, including M.E. and Are Friends Electric?. Numan is here and now. Get into him.
