Sam Duckworth, aka Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly., was a breath of fresh air when he breezed onto the scene in 2006 with debut album Chronicles of a Bohemian Teenager. His acoustic folk melodies, intelligent lyrics and musical in-jokes made him a British Bright Eyes with a cheerier disposition.
Find The Time is the first single to be taken from his forthcoming second album, Searching For The Hows And Whys, and while there's nothing to really fault about it, there's also nothing new - no sense of progression or any feeling that he's moved forward.
In short, Find The Time could be an out-take from his previous album, or a track that was on it but you've just forgotten. And that makes it a disappointment, because an artist that interesting, that different first time round could surely have tried something new or stretched himself a little bit further.
Never mind. Maybe some poor souls out there haven't heard it all before and for them, it does all right. For the rest of us though, we've been here and done that once already.
