Now, there's nothing wrong with admiration of what has gone before. Hero worship is fine, as is homage to the past. But then there's full on, rather creepily disturbing bunny boiling copying of the kind undertaken here by Norwich trio Globo.

You see, Globo aren't so much covering '80s electro paranoia loonies Devo as pretending they are Devo, to such an extent that the only possible explanation for them not being a straight-forward, does-what-it-says-on-the-tin Devo tribute band is that they're stuck in some genuinely mad world of SWF-esque Devo fantasy.

Not only do they sound exactly like Devo, and have nicked Devo's blancmange-mould hat icon as their sleeve design, but they even sponsored Mark Mothersbaugh (of the real Devo)'s art exhibition to come to the UK. That's right - they're the type offans who like pop stars so much they really do think their vanity art projects are good.

They're scary. In fact, they're nearly as scary as watching the real Devo on one too many disco smarties at Benicassim which, believe me, is pretty freaking scary. Run for the hills, I say. Run.
