Strict Machine was a great electro single when released last July, the second from four tracks taken from Black Cherry. But do we really need a new version?
As usual with Goldfrapp there are plenty of versions on offer - CD 1 has the single mix (it doesn't sound a great deal different from the original release, though it has apparently been "reworked into a white lightening glam monster") plus a Benny Benassi remix that sounds... very much like the first one but with some funkier, fuzzier effects. There's a DVD with yet another remix and a couple of live performances (including Lovely Head, a fabulous song).
But I can't help feeling all this activity might just have something to do with Goldfrapp being nominated for an Ivor Novello award in the dance category...
