How do you follow a stomper like Ooh La La? Alison Goldfrapp has decided she'd like to be Number 1 instead of Number 4, if you please. At the end of a UK tour, this second slice of Supernature reminds the world of the band's third album as thoughts begin to turn to Christmas shopping.
Number 1 has a completely different pace to its predecessor. Warmer, calmer and cosier, it maintains those Numanoid synth riffs that Goldfrapp now do so well. It's catchy enough, but is unlikely to stir up the dancefloor in its original mix.
A remix of album track Lovely 2 C U by labelmate T.Raumschmiere and remixes of Number 1 by Alain Braxe and Fred Falk sit alongside bonus Supernature out-take Beautiful.
