Goldrush, having enjoyed tours with The Coral and The Flaming Lips, are being compared with Coldplay. True, there's more than a touch of drive-time indie pop about them.
Yet when Coldplay write a song, we instantly remember it. It'll have hooks, a memorable chorus, excellent instrumentation - in short, a whole vibe.
Goldrush produce inoffensive music, the sort that grows on you if you let it do so, over several listens. But there's nothing outstanding, nothing that grabs you. Not bad, but not outstanding either.
